Surgical and Medical Treatment of Cornea and External Diseases of the Eye, Vision Correction (Refractive) Surgery, and Advanced Cataract Surgical Management
Dr. Virasch is director of cornea and anterior segment disease at NSVC. She specializes in the surgical and medical treatment of corneal and external diseases of the eye, refractive vision correction surgery and also provides leading-edge cataract surgical care. Dr. Virasch is a partner at University Ophthalmology Associates and is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at Rush University Medical Center and is board certified as well as a fellow of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons.
A Chicago native, Dr. Virasch graduated with honors from Washington University in St. Louis with a bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering and went on to complete her medical degree with honors from the University of Illinois College of Medicine. She completed her internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush University Medical Center, where she served as chief resident. She went on to pursue a fellowship in Cornea, External Disease and Refractive surgery at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.
