Stuart Sondheimer, M.D., S.C., our affiliated ophthalmologist, is the Director of Ophthalmology, Surgery and Laser Vision Correction of North Suburban Vision Consultants.

Prior to affiliating with NSVC, Dr. Sondheimer was in private practice in for sixteen years in Mesa, Arizona, where he served on the Board of Directors of the Arizona Medical Association and was medical director of Desert Laser & Eye Institute. He has extensive experience having performed over 15,000 cataract surgeries and 12,000 refractive surgeries as well as 5,000 LASIK laser vision correction procedures.

Dr. Sondheimer, a native of the Chicago area, was born in Evanston and grew up in Glencoe. After attending New Trier East High School and completing his undergraduate degree at Washington University in St. Louis, he earned his M.D. from the University of Illinois, Chicago Medical School. Dr. Sondheimer served his internship at Evanston Hospital and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. A board-certified ophthalmologist, he is on staff at North Shore University Health Care Systems Medical Center.

As Director of Ophthalmology, Surgery and Laser Vision Correction, Dr. Sondheimer brings his considerable experience in eye surgery and treatment of ocular disease to North Suburban Vision Consultants in Deerfield, IL.
